Middle age can vary greatly from person to person, but when I was 16 starting my apprenticeship with an extremely large company, it was generally considered to be a period of life where It would be a time of personal and professional growth, as well as new opportunities and challenges.
People in middle age should be focusing on career advancement, raising a family, and establishing financial stability. We are supposed to be reflecting on our goals, life experiences, and making adjustments to our priorities.

Unfortunately, we are, but it’s not the adjustments we should be making, instead we are looking at ways to enhance our wages, a second job or the new cool thing a “side hustle”, do we sell on ebay or Etsy, do we start a YouTube Channel or dance on TikTok, unfortunately this is a reality, how do we get financial security for our family and ourselves.

Middle age can be a fulfilling and rewarding time as individuals pursue their passions, maintain their physical and mental well-being, and cultivate meaningful relationships with loved ones and the community.
I am going to record my journey striving to achieve financial freedom, which will hopefully allow me to pursue my own passions, allow me free time to fix my physical and mental well-being, and spend more time with my family and friends.

My father retired at 55 in 1999, with me fast approaching 52, I can honestly say I have no chance of repeating this, but I can hopefully bring my retirement closer to my early 60’s rather than my current expectation of 67 – 70.

Let the journey begin
